06. Unwavering Future

[Verse]
From inside a dingy diner, the streets are cold
Once midnight's come and gone, its spells are sold
Now and then, a motor just might slip or roar
Its voice the only sign of life and soul
"We'll somehow be alright, won't we, dear?"
A voice among the islands, silence pierced
A shadow falters, worries disappeared
Inside another glass of drafted beer
Engulfed in silence, two forms sit and stare
The question left unopened like a prayer
"What's worth the worry? We've only just begun,"
The answer lingers, hung upon the air
A lone hotel sign flickers its display
Across the street, a sidewalk lined with clay
In an empty jar, shadows melt as one
Reminds the other, their souls broke in twain
From inside a dingy diner, the streets are cold
Once midnight's come and gone, its spells are sold
Now and then, a motor just might slip or roar
Its voice the only sign of life and soul
